Milton Community Hall

Description:

The newly renovated Milton Community Hall serves residents of Miltonvale Park and surrounding areas. Located prominently at the intersection of the Rustico Road (Rte 7) and the New Glasgow Road (Rte 224), the charm of the old hall, and its “barn like” shape have been retained during its complete renovation.

The board members embarked on preparations for a major renovation project in 2010, and broke ground on October 4, 2011. The kitchen was enlarged and well-stocked, and the hall had additions at the front to allow for larger, accessible washrooms, and stairway to the second floor, and at the back and south side.  A sound room, bar,  and “green” room were constructed, and the building was taken back to its studs and insulated, and a new efficient heating system was installed, as well as a ventilation system and new flooring.

The second floor has been renovated to provide office space for the community council and meeting space. Recently  air conditioners/heat pumps were added to the auditorium, board room and the upstairs office space.

Milton Community Hall is widely known for its socials – and sees many people come to attend its annual Rhubarb, Strawberry and Apple Socials. Card parties are held on Thursday nights from June through September, weekly church services from the Open Bible Baptist Church, concerts, dinners, fundraisers, meetings, dances, and workshops and celebrations also take place at the hall.

Milton Community Hall Inc. was incorporated in 1999, and includes everyone over age 18 who has lived in Miltonvale Park for 6 months, and is governed by a board, elected annually each January.
